President Donald Trump of the United States publicly announced on Twitter:
“As of tonight, I am putting a freeze on unfilled jobs at the White House. The only people who should be working are the people who are here legally.”
President Trump, noting that he had been going after the Obama Administration for its practices concerning the H1-B visa, told a group of CEOs at a White House meeting: “I think we're going to save thousands and thousands of jobs. And these companies are going to expand their business very substantially, and very importantly, it's also going to be a lot of jobs for the United States. Because there are thousands of people that can go back to work and have great careers in this country.” “The bottom line is this: If we don't change it, we're not going to have a country anymore,” he added.
Following a strong national signing day for United States athletes in high school and colleges, the President addressed the nation and said: “It is my proudest moment as President to be signing something that is going to be unbelievable for sports, but I want you to know that all of the work that we did was for you, the incredible American people. And we really mean that. You have been terrific, and we appreciate everything you've done.”
