Army and FARC rebels will sign a peace deal in a date between January 18 to January 19, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro confirmed. "I spoke with Ivan Marquez (president of the FARC) last night, he confirmed the government will have a big announcement on Saturday, Jan. 18," Bolsonaro said on Twitter.
The US is against the ceasefire plan. "No agreement, no negotiations. Now we are in a very different world than we were two years ago," US Ambassador to Colombia Kevin Whitaker told Reuters on Tuesday.
