Five U.S. military personnel are unaccounted for after a collision involving two Black Hawk helicopters near Mosul, Iraq.

One of the CH-47 Chinook helicopters, with 23 U.S. service members on board, collided with a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter in the area, according to the U.S. military.

Eight U.S. service members were airlifted to a local hospital after sustaining non-life threatening injuries. Seven were airlifted to Baghdad and the other two are in stable condition, U.S. Central Command said in a statement. The Black Hawk helicopter was carrying seven U.S. military personnel, with one in serious condition, according to the military.
